After many years of using my body as material source, mainly that of my menstrual blood, the end must eventually come, as I move towards menopause.

So how does one re-shift their own vision of identity ? … lots of drawings… that eventually led to sculptures, and then that eventually led back to a more traditional medium – that of oil paint. After four years of searching, this new body has emerged : “the Clones.”

The dressed up or stripped-down and baring all juxtaposed historical and contemporary figures in Jess’ artworks unashamedly challenge patriarchy.
